Applications are open to ALL Panthers. Interns are to maintain an average of 5-20 hours per week for 15 weeks. Weeks can carry over to the following semester. Students may complete the internship for volunteer hours or academic credit. Academic interns need to be coordinated with your advisor before the internship begins.

Through hands-on field experience, interns will learn about and contribute to the enhancement of our campus through the restoration of our Pine Rockland, the improvement of our thriving hardwood hammocks, and the expansion of our butterfly gardens. Students will also gain a valuable experience and learn skills in leadership and time management by assisting the Naturalist in running volunteer days and guided tours.
Social media interns will support the Office of Sustainability’s outreach efforts by assisting in the creation of engaging Instagram posts. They will research trends and help develop campaign strategies to promote our events and initiatives as well as inspire the FIU community to adopt eco-friendly habits.
